March 2011-- As the systems integrator for Athens-Clarke County’s (ACC) Middle Oconee Water Reclamation Facility process automation system, Transdyn conducted an in-house Factory Acceptance Test (FAT) to determine system deployment readiness. Following the completion of the successful FAT, the ACC project team and Transdyn concluded that the system is set for commissioning.
Transdyn is providing HMI software, hardware, process automation, testing, and training needed for the new control system. Managed by iFIX HMI software, the system will enable operators to more efficiently monitor and control plant processes, facility-wide programmable logic controllers (PLCs), remote operator interface terminals (OITs), and field instruments from local control room workstations or from remote OITs.
Located in Athens, GA, the Athens-Clarke County Public Utilities Department provides wastewater collection and treatment to local industrial, commercial, and residential customers. ACC treats and delivers drinking water each day to about 110,000 people and ensures that water used in homes, businesses, and organizations throughout the county is safely recycled.
