February 2011 -- Transdyn was recently selected to expand the Cobb County-Marietta Water Authority’s Wyckoff Water Treatment Plant SCADA System. The system expansion will be delivered as part of the Wyckoff Regulatory and Operational (R & O) Improvements Project being undertaken by CCMWA to rehabilitate the plant and prepare it for 2012 federal regulatory compliance. New treatment basins, a chemical building, and a granular activated carbon (GAC) facility will be installed to ensure the plant continues to provide clean drinking water and fire protection.
Continuing a 10 year relationship with CCMWA, Transdyn will provide SCADA, HMI, and historical database modifications, PLC configuration, programming, instrumentation, and improved reporting capabilities to integrate and automate the new equipment and processes into the existing plant SCADA system. The system enhancements will modernize the plant's water treatment technology, decrease plant downtime due to maintenance tasks, and will enable more efficient operation of the facility.
The Authority has worked with Transdyn over the past decade to provide state-of-the-art control systems that enable remote monitoring and automation of the Quarles Water Treatment Plant, Quarles Raw Water Pump Station, Wyckoff Water Treatment Plant, Wyckoff Raw Water Pump Station and remote distribution sites.
For over 50 years, CCMWA has reliably delivered water to its customers. Currently, the Authority provides treated drinking water and fire protection water on a wholesale basis to eleven retail water suppliers and one industrial customer in northwest Georgia.
