TRANSDYN AWARDED CONTRACT TO UPGRADE LANIER WTP OZONE GENERATION PROCESS FOR GWINNETT COUNTY, GA

April 8, 2008 -- Transdyn has received a contract to integrate two new ozone generators and destruct units into the existing ozone disinfection process at Gwinnett County’s Lanier Water Treatment Plant. Transdyn is also working with the County to refine the ozone dosage algorithms which will ultimately include automated modes for flow pacing and CT trim.

The 150 MGD Lanier WTP is one of the most important water production plants in the Southeast. Serving all of Gwinnett County and portions of other metro Atlanta counties, this modern facility is one of the largest plants in the country utilizing ozone as the primary method of disinfection.

Transdyn is supplying field instrumentation, control panel modifications, PLC and DYNAC® configuration, graphics development, testing, training, documentation, and startup services.

For over thirteen years, Transdyn has been meeting the control system needs of the Gwinnett County Department of Water Resources water treatment facilities.  This work includes integrated monitoring and control SCADA systems deployed at the County’s two water treatment plants.  Both systems utilize Programmable Logic Controllers (PLCs) to provide control and data acquisition capabilities for all vital plant processes including primary disinfections, ozonization, filter control, high service pumps, and chemical treatment.

Gwinnett County, GA Department of Water Resources is committed to providing clean, safe drinking water to more than 600,000 citizens.
