GWINNETT COUNTY, GA AWARDS TRANSDYN DYNAC® SCADA SYSTEM UPGRADE PROJECT

January 9, 2009 -- Continuing a 13 year partnership, Transdyn has received a contract from Gwinnett County Department of Water Resources to upgrade the existing DYNAC® OS 64 system to Transdyn’s latest version of DYNAC® Enterprise Server (ES) software for both the Lanier and Shoal Creek Water Treatment Plants.

Transdyn is providing software, configuration, installation, testing, training, documentation, and startup services. To take advantage of DYNAC ES ease of configurability, the County is performing graphics development for both systems. The experience gained by the County’s systems experts during the configuration phase of the project will allow them to continually enhance and maintain the systems with their own forces following system deployment.

The new system will allow the County to benefit from DYNAC ES technological advances, state-of-the-art monitoring and control capabilities, and enhanced graphics capabilities and security features.

The 150 MGD Lanier WTP is one of the most important water production plants in the Southeast. Serving all of Gwinnett County and portions of other metro Atlanta counties, this modern facility is one of the largest plants in the country utilizing ozone as the primary method of disinfection. The 75 MGD Shoal Creek Filter Plant works in accord with the 150 MGD Lanier Filter Plant to process a combined 225 MGD. Both plants employ an ozone system for disinfection and work as one to produce drinking water for Gwinnett County citizens.

Gwinnett County Department of Water Resources strives to enhance quality of life by providing excellent water, wastewater, and stormwater services at the best possible value to their customers while preserving natural water resources.
