Quarles Water Treatment Plant Control System Integration Services Contract Awarded To Transdyn

January 1, 2010 -- Cobb County-Marietta Water Authority has awarded Transdyn a contract to provide control system integration services for the Plant 2 Rehabilitation project, including a full hardware and software upgrade of the Quarles Water Treatment Plant SCADA system. The system upgrade will allow the Authority greater monitoring and control capabilities and more easily perform system maintenance.

As part of the project, Transdyn will upgrade the HMI software and expand the system to include three new remote sites. Field instrumentation, configuration, control panels, servers, a historical database, testing, training, documentation and startup services will be provided.

The Authority has worked with Transdyn over the last nine years to provide mission critical control systems for their Quarles Water Treatment Plant, Quarles Raw Water Pump Station, Wyckoff Water Treatment Plant, and remote distribution sites.

Cobb County-Marietta Water Authority is a public utility that provides treated drinking water and fire protection water on a wholesale basis to eleven retail water suppliers and one industrial customer. As the state of Georgia’s first independent water authority, their mission is to acquire and treat sufficient sources of water for the communities they serve.
