Lincoln and Holland Tunnels Intelligent Video System
Lincoln & Holland Tunnels Intelligent Video System

Owner:
Port Authority of New York & New Jersey

Location:
Lower Manhattan, NY & Central NJ
Project Description:
Operated by The Port Authority of New York and New Jersey, the Holland and Lincoln Tunnels opened in 1927 and provides a vital link between midtown Manhattan and central New Jersey. With traffic volumes exceeding 70 million vehicles per year, they are among the busiest tunnels in the world.

Transdyn was selected by the Port Authority of New York & New Jersey to design, implement and maintain an Intelligent Video System and Intelligent Transportation System (ITS) for the Lincoln and Holland Tunnels.

The intelligent video system is vital to the safe and efficient operation of these facilities. Video from CCTV is analyzed to detect traffic anomalies both inside and outside of the tunnels as well as other sensitive areas.

Transdyn's DYNAC ATMSĀ® software automatically detects incidents, identifies stopped vehicles and implements optimal response plans. The software assists operators in rapidly responding to emergency situations, alerting motorists, clearing incidents, balancing traffic flows and mitigating congestion.
