Project Description:
San Jose Water Company is a regulated California water utility providing water service to a population of approximately 965,000 in an area comprising about 138 square miles in the metropolitan San Jose area.
Transdyn provided a water distribution SCADA system to the San Jose Water Company. The DYNAC® master servers provide management of power demand at pump stations. The supervisory control system includes 100 remote terminal units, dual redundant servers and workstations. Special control strategies resident in the remote control units provide autonomous and remote control of pumping stations. All data communications are via 928/956 MHz point to multiple address multi-point radio communication system consisting of two separate redundant base stations and over 100 remote radios. A special feature of the system is the use of remote mobile workstations operating over VHF packet radio. Also included is a point-to-point 18 GHz point-to-point digital microwave system with data and voice multiplex.
