San Antonio Water SCADA System
Owner:
City of San Antonio Water System
Location:
San Antonio, TX
Project Description:
The San Antonio Water System serves approximately one million people in the urbanized part of Bexar County. This population includes approximately 300,000 separate customers. SAWS’ population is projected to increase to 2.2 million by 2050, and its water demand will roughly double over that period. An important component of SAWS’ planning role is the responsibility to protect the purity of the city’s water supply from the Edwards Aquifer, including enforcing certain city ordinances related to subdivision development.
Transdyn was selected by SAWS to provide DYNAC® managed SCADA
Systems at its Heating and Cooling facility and the Twin Oaks Aquifer
Storage and Recovery (ASR) facility. The Heating and Cooling facility
SCADA system is comprised of redundant servers, workstations,
remote access laptop workstations, RTUs, a new spread spectrum
radio system, and expansion of the existing licensed radio system.
From the control room, operators are able to monitor SCADA systems
at both facilities.
