Atlanta-Fulton County Water Treatment Plant SCADA System
Owner: Atlanta-Fulton County Water Resources Commission
Location: Atlanta, GA

Operated by the Atlanta-Fulton County Water Resources Commission (AFCWRC), the Atlanta-Fulton County Water Treatment plant provides up to ninety MGD of potable water to the residents of North Fulton County, GA and the City of Atlanta, GA.

Transdyn completed a state-of-the-art Supervisory Control and Data Acquisition (SCADA) System for the Atlanta-Fulton County Water Resources Commission. The SCADA system monitors and controls over 3700 points including high service pumps, raw water pumps and declining rate filters. The SCADA system allows the AFCWRC to efficiently operate their facility, improve equipment maintenance, provide the highest quality water and control operation and maintenance costs.

The system is managed by Transdyn’s DYNAC® software suite. A pair of redundant servers with distributed control operator workstations are located in the plant control room. The system is designed to allow access and control to all areas of the plant, provide daily and monthly reports, and store ten years of archived historical data. DYNAC®’s integrated support of the voice annunciation system provides the operators with a plant-wide voice alarm system.

The SCADA system offers automatic control of high service pumps, raw water pumps, sludge pumps, modulated control valves, and filter backwashes. The system also includes integrated support of the PMS particle counter system and the vibration monitoring system.
