The Deerfield Beach West and East Water Treatment Plants provide quality potable water service to approximately 51,000 residents of Deerfield Beach, Florida. The East treatment plant and the West plant together produce twenty-three million gallons per day. The City also operates twenty water production wells, seventy-two sewage lift stations, and five storage tanks.
Transdyn provided a plant control system for both the East and West water treatment plants and a Supervisory Control and Data Acquisition system for water distribution and wastewater collection.
The system consists of redundant central computers and multiple workstations running DYNAC® software and communicating via microwave radio to over eighty remote terminal units located at lift stations, tanks, and wells throughout the service area. In-plant Programmable Logic Controllers (PLCs) are connected via a high speed fiber optic data highway to the central servers to manage plant operations.
